Privacy and editorial integrity, in plain terms

LedgerTail collects no analytics, sets no tracking cookies, requires no account, and sells no scores. This page states exactly what data exists when you read us (almost none) and exactly how money reaches this site without touching a ranking. Last reviewed May 6, 2026.

What we collect: nothing, by design

This site runs no analytics platform, no advertising network, no session recorder and no social pixels. There are no accounts, no newsletters, no comment systems and no contact forms harvesting addresses. The only external request your browser makes while reading is to Google Fonts, which serves our typefaces; if you block it, the site renders in system fonts and loses nothing else.

Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested page — as any web server does. We do not analyze them for individuals, we do not combine them with anything, and we would have nothing meaningful to sell even if we wanted to. That is the point of collecting nothing: our privacy policy is an architecture, not a promise.

Outbound links and how we earn money

Articles link out to the products we review. Some of those outbound links are partner links: if you click through and later become a customer, the partner may pay LedgerTail a referral fee at no cost to you. Other funding comes from reader contributions. Both streams are pooled at the publication level; no writer knows or controls which specific article generates what.

Three firewalls keep money away from scores. First, sequence: scores are computed from our published protocol and locked before outbound links are placed on a page. Second, symmetry: every app in a benchmark is tested identically whether or not it has a partner program — several products we rank have no commercial relationship with us at all. Third, repetition: we re-run benchmarks quarterly, so a partner cannot purchase a good score once and coast on it.

Editorial integrity rules we hold ourselves to

  • No sponsored placements. Rankings, scores and verdicts are never sold, bartered or influenced by payment. We do not accept payment for coverage, placement or score changes.
  • No preview access. No brand sees a review, a score or a ranking before publication. Factual corrections after publication follow our corrections policy and are noted in the article.
  • We install and pay like readers do. Test accounts are ordinary consumer accounts. Where a product is paid, we pay the listed price.
  • Conflicts are disclosed or avoided. If a team member ever holds a financial interest in a product category we cover, they are off that coverage, and the conflict is noted on this page.

Corrections and contact

Errors are corrected in the article with a dated note at the top; if a correction changes a ranking, the change is announced on the affected benchmark page. Reach the desk at corrections@ledgertail.site for factual disputes or editorial@ledgertail.site for everything else. We read everything; we reply to anything backed by evidence.
